Venous Sinus Stenosis / IIH

Venous sinus stenosis and idiopathic intracranial hypertension (IIH) occur when the large veins that drain blood from the brain become narrowed, causing increased pressure inside the skull. This elevated pressure can lead to headaches, vision disturbances, pulsatile tinnitus, and in severe cases, permanent vision loss. IIH often affects young women but can occur in anyone. Early diagnosis with MRI, MRV, and lumbar puncture is essential for preventing long-term complications.

Raised intracranial pressure causes persistent headaches, blurred vision, ringing in the ear, dizziness, and difficulty concentrating.
